It appears that Toronto FC Supplemental Draft pick Darryl Roberts from Trinidad has not yet committed to MLS. He is considering an offer from a Dutch side, most probably Roda JC. T&T national team coach Dutchman Wim Rijsbergen may be promoting T&T talent in his homeland in order to get his players playing in Europe.

More on Roberts.

I'm very dissapointed that MLSE is refusing to recruit a marquee player to this seasons squad.
Mo continues to go out of his way to say TFC are not interested in a Davids, Ronaldo etc.

When you consider the more than 10,000 fans who have purchased seasons tickets and the almost sold out private suite situation, it's a slap in the face of the Toronto football fan, who've stepped up and put thei hard earned money where their mouth is.

Perhaps they just feel that soccer fans will support at this level for a long time. news alert for Mr. Peddie, fans of the Marlies, Raptors etc., come and go with the wins, losses and quality of players coming through town.
Fans will pay $250 to watch beckham play in Toronto next season, however willnot put down $200 to buy TFC seasons tickets.

What does this say? Wake up and smell the pint, bring in a recognizable name, even if they are on the wrong side of the 30, ASAP to maintain the momentum you're experiencing.

I personally would rather TFC bring Toronto a Christian Gomez type of player that although unknown before his arrival, has become a star player in the MLS. That said many teams have had a major decline in interest even with winning teams. The most evident perhaps are the New England Revolution who have had great on field success, but have had a big decline at the gate at the same time. While we do not have many big names we do have several players who were fan favourites at their previous teams - Pepe Cancela, Alecko, and Ronnie O'Brien which should bode well for TFC as well.

The Reveloution play out of an NFL stadium. This is the reason for their decline in attendance. BMO Field will only bring them in for so long, just ask the Blue Jays about that.

At the end of the day the, Toronto football fans will want to see a star from a European league rather than one developed through the MLS.

Beasly, Reyna and Howard have become household names in North America as a result of playing in the EPL, not MLS.

I'm a fan of soccer, regarless of the level, however I just want to see MLSE spend some money on this team and create some sizzle.
