DC Samba: DC United is going Brazilian with news that "Fred", a midfielder who played with Australian side Melbourne last season, is all but confirmed. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/03/08/AR2007030802204.html

Robbie Rogers to Columbus: The Washington Post reports the Robbie Rogers lottery was won by the Columbus Crew yesterday.

DP Player to be Signed Soon: New York soccer writer Michael Lewis, is reporting that a source has told him an MLS team is set to sign a designated player. While we don't know the team involved, we do know the teams that have said they won't be involved in a DP signing anytime soon - namely: Toronto, New York, and DC United, while LA and Chivas no longer have a DP to use. Chicago has cleared tons of salary from their roster this off-season, and has yet to make a splash - my bet is on the Fire. Patrick Berger or Mexican Cuauhtemoc Blanco perhaps????
