TORONTO FC ADDS CORPORATE SPONSORS...

In addition to Carlsberg, The Toronto Sun newspaper, and Bank of Montreal (BMO), Toronto FC have added Unico Foods, Rogers Communications, canoe.ca, Pizza Pizza, Purolator, and Canon to its growing and impressive list of local corporate sponsors. Of course Adidas will be the official uniform supplier as per the extensive league partnership with the sporting goods manufacturer.

Makes one wonder how closely TFC will come to breaking even their 1st year.

Lots of things to consider, but if one spreads the franchise fee and stadium costs over some depreciation-type schedule ... with 14K season tickets plus all luxury boxes sold and now a jersey sponsorship things must be looking very good financially for the I/O group.

It would seem that being in the black in their second season of operation would be very feasible.

Don't forget MLSE have sold the stadium naming rights for $27 million to BMO, and will control much of the ancillary stadium revenues and dates. They will make money from the additional soccer events (11 this year already including the 9 FIFA U-20 dates, and two CSA exhibitons) and for such things as concerts (Genesis booked for September), rugby, cricket, lacrosse etc...
